FolioSpace Reader is now on the App Store

FolioSpace Library

Books, games, comics, movies, and TV — in one self-hosted library.

Index your own books, comics, PDFs, games, movies, and TV on your NAS or Docker host, then open the same library through the Web UI, HTTP API, and MCP. Compatible dedicated clients provide reading, game, and movie experiences.

FolioSpace Library 1.03 · Movie and TV library

Your books, games, comics — and now a richer movie library.

Keep your own movies and TV shows alongside your reading and game collections on your NAS or Docker host. Browse a paginated poster wall, filter by work or library, and organize seasons, episodes, specials, and multiple file versions.

Posters and metadata

Use local NFO files and artwork, correct metadata manually, or optionally search TMDB candidates. Review and confirm a match before requesting its metadata and poster.

Movie services for compatible clients

The server supplies catalogs, posters, metadata, original-file streams, and APIs for watched state, continue watching, and next up. Clients handle decoding; features depend on capability discovery and a compatible app build.

Optional TMDB matching

Online matching is off by default. Configure your own TMDB API Read Access Token to enable it. Local files, NFO, artwork, and manual metadata remain usable without an online provider. TMDB supplies metadata and images, not movie files.

Library 1.03 is a server release; it does not announce a new App Store client or automatically update an existing container. Existing optional HLS compatibility remains available. TMDB matching and season refresh are explicit actions, not automatic whole-library scraping.

Review TMDB terms and attribution requirements for your use; owning a token does not itself grant commercial permission.

Universal client

Install once, connect every Apple surface to the same library.

FolioSpace Reader turns your self-hosted Library into a device-native experience. Vision Pro, iPad, and iPhone can browse, read, and continue from the same NAS-backed collection without exposing raw storage paths.

Vision Pro

Bring books, comics, documents, and future spatial media into a larger immersive workspace.

iPad

Use the same personal library as a comfortable reading and browsing terminal.

iPhone

Check recent items, continue reading, and reach your private library from anywhere your server is available.

Download on the App Store

Server stays self-hosted. The App Store client connects to your FolioSpace Library.

Real client surfaces

The App Store client is already shaped around self-hosted libraries.

Connect your server, browse the same collection on iPad, then open books, comics, and PDFs in reader modes that keep state inside your own FolioSpace Library.

Earlier release · 1.01

FolioSpace Library 1.01 keeps local game libraries compatible across runtime updates.

The 1.01 multi-architecture Docker release added audited MAME content-equivalence support while preserving strict dependency checks, local-only catalogs, and existing Reader, video, and MCP APIs.

Audited MAME upgrades

Use reviewed content-definition evidence across compatible MAME 0.287, 0.288, and 0.289 runtimes.

Strict content checks

Changed definitions still require a fresh audit, and complete ROM, BIOS, and dependency closure remains mandatory.

AMD64 and ARM64

The same 1.01 image is published for Linux AMD64 and ARM64, with service and source MCP metadata aligned.

What it manages

FolioSpace Library is an index and client service layer for files you already own and store locally.

PDF

Manuals, documents, first-page previews, and Range-capable service URLs.

Self-hosted architecture

Your files stay on your NAS. FolioSpace Library indexes metadata, covers, thumbnails, and scan results. Clients consume stable APIs and media URLs instead of raw storage paths.

Your files stay on your NAS

Books, comics, PDFs, ROMs, videos, and documents remain in your mounted folders.

FolioSpace Library indexes metadata

Scans are transparent, cancellable, resumable, and report structured errors.

Clients consume stable APIs

Web UI, Apple devices, SpatialEMU, and MCP agents receive service URLs and manifests.

Beyond books

FolioSpace Library organizes local ROM catalogs with compatibility checks, metadata, and cover matching, alongside video entry points. It does not provide downloads, sharing, or built-in copyrighted resources.

Reader, game, video, and MCP clients

The server is small by design. The clients decide how each asset should be read, played, inspected, or automated.

Reader

FolioSpace Reader on iPhone, iPad, and Apple Vision Pro can load private books, PDFs, comics, reading state, and offline downloads from the same optional server.

Clear boundaries

FolioSpace Library is self-hosted infrastructure for your own files. It is not a cloud drive, SaaS product, media download site, ROM source, or a full replacement for Plex, Jellyfin, Immich, Komga, or Calibre-Web.
